New FINANCIAL Year0

I love the new financial year, mainly because it is NEW! God is a God of new beginnings. His mercies are new every morning. Every day is a fresh start with God.Easter is all about a new beginning - not even death is an excuse when it comes to God! He can resurect even the most hopeless situation.

Christmas is all about a new begining too. Jesus, God as human flesh, was a mind-blowingly new concept. But it wasn’t just  a concept. He actually did it. He came and dwelt amongst us. An amazing new way to connect with God.  So new, so amazing, that many people missed it.

And that’s one of the problems with new stuff. To take advantage of new stuff you have to let go of the old stuff. New stuff will only benefit you, if you recognise that things have changed and you are willing to move on with the new way of doing things.

What about you? Do you take time to look around and see what is new? What has changed? What old things that used to work, that aren’t working anymore, do you need to let go of?

Imagine if you were a record shop saying “These new fangled CDs won’t be around long. I’ve always made a profit from selling vinyl, and I’m sure if I just do what I’ve always done, I’ll continue to be profitable!” Noooooooo! You’d go broke - things have changed! Let it go!

The other reason I love the new financial year is (apart from being new) it is a FINANCIAL year. And I aim to make every year more financial than the last year - I mean really, really financial.

What are you doing to make this year more financial? Have you got a plan to increase your income? Are you reducing your debts? Are your taxes up to date? Have you taken another look at your expenses?

My prayer for you is that you have a happy, new, FINANCIAL year!
