Image Makeover0

Image Makeover shows are everywhere. ”How to look good naked”, “What not to wear”, “The naked chef”, “Top Gear”, “Better Homes and Gardens” to name just a few. It doesn’t matter  whether it’s your house, car, hairstyle, wardrobe or body – someone, somewhere – especially in television land - wants to change the way it looks.

It seems the way things look to you, is clearly the wrong way. You need someone else to show you the way things really are. Have you ever moved to a new town, or joined a new group, or seen some childhood friends, and had the feeling “Don’t these people know who I am?!”

The way we see ourselves, our “self image” can be influenced by the way other people see us. Our feeling of worth and value or “self esteem” can also be enhanced or diminshed by the treatment we receive from others. I think we all know that it can, the question is should it?

I recently moved to a small town, about 5,000 kilometres away from where I had lived for almost a decade. It’s a beautiful town. But the people don’t treat me the same. So I could change my self-image to conform with the image they have of me. But should I?

And, anyway, what’s that got to do with money? Find out by clicking here.

Anyone for tennis?0

I was watching the tennis on the tele the other day. Even with multiple camera views from all angles of the court, I still find myself joining in with the crowd at the court … looking left…. right…. left….right, as they slog it out. (OK, yes, I admit it, sometimes I find myself checking out Roger Federer’s butt too! ;-) .

Anyhoo, the other day the tennis taught me something vital about money. It was something that Jesus knew a l-o-o-o-o-n-g time ago. So why did it take me so long to pick up on it? Have you picked up on it yet? Or have you double-faulted on this prosperity serve and dragged a poverty volley into the net? Check out the scoreboard by clicking here.
